A Note from the Producer

I'm Mike Evangelist, a longtime Shawn Phillips fan and the producer of the Texas Days, African Nights DVD and the forthcoming DVD/CD box set: Living Collaboration.

I'm currently hard at work editing the video from the Minnesota Zoo concert. We shot it with HD five cameras, and recorded the audio to eight-channel digital, so I expect it to look and sound better than any of Shawn's previous live recordings.

This new project (like the earlier disc) is a volunteer effort, involving considerable expenses. If you're able to provide some financial assistance, please see the main Shawn Phillips website for information about the Moneydance II fundraiser, which will help defray the costs of production.

Haven't we met before?
I had all but forgotten this photo of Shawn until I began working on this DVD. I took it at a restaurant in Minneapolis in the early 70s. A friend and I had joined Shawn for some munchies after one of his concerts at the Guthrie Theater.
